Key Responsibilities

  • Provide routine support for teachers to enable them to focus on teaching.
  • Assist with planning student routines to promote smooth classroom operations.
  • Communicate with teachers regarding routine matters to maintain effective communication channels.
  • Communicate with students to support comprehension of basic tasks and information.
  • Address immediate behavioural presentations relating to specific students within a classroom setting.
  • Provide basic support and supervision for individuals or small groups of up to four students within a classroom setting.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with students, teachers, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a calm and composed demeanor.
  • Ability to follow instructions from teachers and use initiative to take on new challenges.
  • Compassionate, caring, and patient approach to provide physical and emotional support to students.
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
  • Commitment to a 12-month traineeship.
  • No prior completion of Certificate III or Higher in Education Support within the last 7 years.
