About the North East Link Project

The Spark Consortium has been selected to deliver the Central Package of the North East Link Project, Victoria's biggest road project.

The Central Package will be delivered as a Public Private Partnership and provides three-lane twin tunnels that will close the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads.

About the Opportunity

CPB Contractors Pty Limited is seeking an experienced Plant Administrator to join the team on this iconic North East Link project. The role will provide administrative support to the plant team, which may include managing day-to-day activities, inclusive of diary management, communications, reporting, records management, procurement, accounts, and purchasing.

This position is a full-time role, based at our site locations, and you must be comfortable with site conditions. There is limited access to public transport, and therefore, it will be an essential requirement of the role to have your own vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Registering and overseeing incoming and outgoing correspondence and documentation
  2. Preparing relevant documentation, including assisting with formatting and record-keeping
  3. Maintaining an effective filing and archiving system to ensure records and documents are suitably protected and readily available
  4. Continuously seeking ways to improve the provision of services and processes
  5. Implementing and supporting change strategies
  6. Providing support to ensure all owned plant and equipment is maintained to comply with project and Australian Safety Standards
  7. Planning and coordinating a Plant Maintenance planning system to improve plant reliability
  8. Maintaining the maintenance program using a database by promptly generating and issuing work orders to Mechanical or Electrical Supervisors for action
  9. Ordering and maintaining onsite stock of various stationary and parts required
  10. Price checking, purchase order creation, delivery confirmation, and invoice approval
  11. Assisting Plant Engineers and Foreman in day-to-day running activities
  12. Insurance and warranty claims
  13. Hiring plant organisation
  14. Transport organisation

Required qualifications and experience

  1. Relevant word processing and secretarial qualifications and/or training
  2. Ideal but not compulsory minimum 5 years experience in Administration. Can be less for the right candidate
  3. Construction work environment desirable
  4. Advanced Microsoft Skills
  5. Ability to work to deadlines and manage conflicting priorities in a high-volume work environment
  6. Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts with confidence, but tactful
  7. Strong level written and verbal communication
  8. Client focus
  9. Attention to detail
