About The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Specialist to maintain and review our compliance obligations management procedure against risk appetite and ensure it is being applied across the organisation. The successful candidate will maintain and adhere to relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, including liaison with regulators as required.
The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for:
- Documenting, supporting, and monitoring business compliance requirements, including the day-to-day operation of the compliance obligations management procedure.
- Monitoring and reviewing compliance activities of other departments, including validation of attestations and internal controls.
- Providing oversight of compliance incidents and/or breaches.
- Assisting the Risk & Compliance Manager in overseeing the ongoing operation of and adherence to the Risk and Compliance Framework.
- Periodically assessing the effectiveness of risk and compliance management across the entity, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness, and providing advice to the business in relation to the same.
- Reporting to boards and executive management on compliance matters.
- Educating and promoting awareness of the entity's Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) system across functional stakeholders.
- Acting as the primary liaison officer between the entity and the GRC vendor to ensure the system is delivering the benefits and functionality as required.
- Assisting the Risk & Compliance Manager in providing support, training, and advice to the executive and management to help them identify, develop, and manage their risks, compliance obligations, and internal audit actions.
- Collaborating with other business units to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.
We are looking for a highly experienced Compliance Specialist with 5-7 years of experience in a compliance management or related role within a large and/or highly regulated organisation. Experience in implementing a compliance management framework is highly regarded, along with Risk Management and/or Internal Audit experience.
The ideal candidate will have a degree qualification in accounting, business, risk management, or commercial law, and possess highly developed stakeholder management skills, solutions-focused approach, outstanding relationship and communication skills, both written and verbal, and a professional demeanor in training, coaching, and presenting to small and large-scale audiences.
