Chief Operations and Regulatory Affairs Director

The Chief Operations and Compliance Officer plays a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of regulatory compliance, operational activities, and business strategies to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
This position requires an experienced individual who can develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive regulatory and compliance program that aligns with company objectives and ensures adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Business Strategy: Develop high-quality business plans ensuring alignment with short-term and long-term objectives.
- People Management: Oversee the management of the Compliance Department and Operations Department. Lead and motivate the team to advance employee engagement and enhance managerial capabilities.
- Operations Management: Ensure operational activities meet agreed targets and align with the company's overall strategic goals and mission.
- Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and foster a culture that identifies opportunities for improving service delivery through continuous improvement and increased capability.
- Policies & Procedures: Develop and enforce company-wide policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and industry standards.
- Regulatory Monitoring: Stay current with changes in laws, regulations, and standards affecting the company and proactively identify potential compliance risks.
- Training & Education: Conduct training programs for employees across the business, particularly within the Operations and Compliance Departments, to increase awareness of regulatory compliance requirements and best practices.
- Compliance, Risk & Assurance: Continuously assess and evaluate the company's risk profile, identifying and mitigating potential compliance risks. Lead internal investigations into compliance violations and develop corrective action plans.
- Vendor & Partner Compliance: Ensure third-party relationships and partners comply with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities, auditors, and external stakeholders regarding compliance matters.
- Ethical Culture & Whistleblower Program: Promote a culture of ethical behavior and compliance throughout the organization, leading by example and fostering a strong commitment to compliance among employees and contractors.
- Management of Accreditation & Re-Accreditation: Manage any new accreditation or re-accreditation of schemes or licenses required to operate legally and including any industry standards such as ISO certifications.
- Delivery Forecast: Work with the finance team to prepare a timeline to deliver environmental certificate registrations on time to maintain cash flow forecasts.
