We are seeking compassionate individuals to provide spiritual support and companionship to elderly clients in their homes.

The role involves visiting an elderly lady living in North Turramurra, providing regular companionship and engaging in robust conversations. She has a Methodist background but was part of the School of Philosophy for 40 years, which has had a significant impact on her life.

As a volunteer, you will work under the direction of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator to:

  • Support people to meet their spiritual needs

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A high level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills
  • Pastoral Care training, such as Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or completion of HammondCare's Spiritual Care Series

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on someone's life and develop your own skills and knowledge. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and reduce feelings of isolation.

We would like to find a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday. Visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.

You must be at least 18 years old and have a National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by us plus an NDIS Worker Screening Check.
