About the Role

Austrade's TradeStart network delivers Austrade services through local public sector and industry organisations throughout Australia. In the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), our partner is the Directorate of Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development, with the role residing within The Office of International Engagement (OIE).

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver OIE services and work closely with Austrade's teams in Australia and overseas to deliver Austrade services.
  • Provide practical exporting advice and assistance to export-ready Australian businesses.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including businesses, industry organisations, and government agencies.
  • Identify and pursue business opportunities in the critical and enabling technologies space, including AI, advanced ICT, autonomous systems, robotics, biotechnologies, digital, fintech, industry tech, and quantum technology.

Requirements

  • A strong background in the practical aspects of international trade.
  • Highly developed skills in key account and relationship management.
  • An understanding of the factors and decisions relevant to business at various stages of growth and internationalisation.
  • Comfortable working in virtual teams and high-level communication and representation skills.
  • Australian Citizenship and agreement to submit to an Austrade vetting process, including obtaining and maintaining an AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance.
