About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural BIM Designer to join our Data Center Design Engineering team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing structural models and drawings for our data centers using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute and maintain Architectural, Civil, and Structural (ACS) BIM models for data centers.
  • Collaborate with the Global BIM team to maintain various BIM models across APAC and EMEA jurisdictions.
  • Create concept designs based on existing AWS templates for regions to enable consultants to start specific projects using the most up-to-date information.
  • Review consultants' Structural and Civil models to ensure they meet AWS standards and follow the Exchange Information Requirements (EIR).
  • Work with design consultants on in-flight projects in multiple geographical locations, from design through construction, providing guidance on AWS requirements.
  • Provide BIM oversight of the CSA aspects of the data center life cycle, including design, construction, and maintenance of data center BIM models.
  • Collaborate with the AWS Infrastructure Delivery Team and Real Estate team to produce conceptual site test fits for new regions to determine suitability for future projects.
About the Team

You will work with our internal BIM Design Services Team, Internal Design Engineering teams, and external consultants to innovate and drive standards during the design stage of projects, leveraging all aspects of the Model capability to help consultants deliver efficient coordinated designs to IFC stage.

Requirements
  • 8+ years of cumulative experience in Industrial or Commercial Structural model and drawing production of critical facilities/Large industry.
  • 8+ years of experience using Revit for producing Structural engineering models and drawings.
  • 8+ years of experience using AutoCAD to produce architecture or engineering drawings.
  • 5+ years of experience working with multi-discipline teams in a structural coordination role – shows strong ownership of projects.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Navisworks.
  • Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Structural/Civil Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Australian building codes.
  • Civil 3D capabilities/experience would be of benefit.
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical services in data centers.
  • Proficient in coordinating structure with mission-critical systems.
  • Experience directly related to Data Center design and construction.
  • Experience and knowledge applying Lean principles to design modeling and drawing production.
  • Experience with large-scale designs in other regions in the APAC Region.
