Hotel Front Desk Job Overview
The hotel front desk is the primary point of contact for guests and staff alike. This role requires a unique blend of customer service skills, technical knowledge, and organizational abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Guest Check-In/Check-Out: Register arriving guests, assign rooms, and process departures in a timely and efficient manner.
- Complaint Resolution: Investigate and resolve guest complaints and issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Room Management: Maintain accurate records of room assignments, vacancies, and reservations.
- Communication: Answer telephones, relay messages, and provide general information about hotel facilities and services.
- Cash Handling: Process guest payments, calculate charges, and balance cash and complete related reports.
- Clerical Duties: Perform various administrative tasks such as faxing, filing, and photocopying.
- Emergency Procedures: Follow established emergency and safety procedures to ensure guest and staff safety.
Requirements:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
Working Conditions:
- On-site work at a physical location
- No option to work remotely
