Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at the Recruitment Hive. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and unit testing ETL and ELT processes, data products, and complex data visualisations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop ETL and ELT processes, data products, and complex data visualisations using modern cloud technology (Azure).
  • Design and develop data movement and transformation processes to prepare data for use in decision-making processes across the department.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure the successful delivery of data-driven solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience with MS Azure Stack, Data Integration, Data Store, Analytics, and Development tools.
  • Strong understanding of data technology solutions, including sourcing, collecting, ingesting, and storing data.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex data sets, identify trends and patterns, and design principles to create appropriate visualisations for the target audience.

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience developing ETL/ELT processes for complex and/or large data movement, transformation, and/or visualisations, particularly in a cloud environment.
  • Experience preparing data optimised for query performance in cloud computed engines.
  • Experience working with Engineering, Storage, and Analytics services in cloud infrastructure.

About the Role

This is a long-term contract opportunity with a Federal Government department based in Civic, ACT. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a range of exciting projects and develop their skills in a dynamic and supportive team.
