Fleet Manager Job Description

Our Fleet Manager is a crucial role that requires expertise and strategic thinking to ensure our vehicle fleet is safe, reliable, and ready for operation.

This position is responsible for making informed decisions on asset purchases and disposal, maintenance of the vehicle fleet, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations across all states, optimal safety and functionality, and cost-effectiveness.

The successful candidate will oversee maintenance schedules, manage vendor relationships, and ensure every vehicle meets the highest safety standards. They'll also play a vital part in shaping our fleet's future – forecasting needs, building renewal strategies, and training our leaders so they're confident and capable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic planning and management of the vehicle fleet
  • Maintenance scheduling and vendor relationship management
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Training leaders and staff

Requirements:

  • A minimum 5 years' senior technical experience in fleet management, maintenance, and repair
  • Demonstrated experience in scheduling and managing a large diverse fleet in Australia
  • Proficient in the use of Office365 and particularly in Microsoft Excel, and strong administrative skills
  • A sound understanding of driving and commercial licensing regulatory requirements within Australia
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
