Electrical Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at KBR. As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the electrical engineering design project, teams, and assignments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the electrical engineering design project, teams, and assignments.
  • Organize, execute, coordinate, mentor, and coach the team and undertake complex engineering tasks.
  • Apply advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes.
  • Be involved in all aspects of design, including contributing to and performing designs, preparing specifications.
  • Operate within KBR's quality management system.
  • Discuss and negotiate critical issues within the discipline both internally and with external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Significant practical and theoretical knowledge in electrical engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in undertaking and supervising detailed design of a broad range of electrical systems, primarily high voltage systems.
  • Solid experience of leading a multi-disciplinary project team and the ability to mentor and develop team members.
  • Experience in preparing and verifying design calculations, including self-checking, using either manual methods or with the aid of computer programs, and guiding designers and drafters in the preparation of drawings and to undertake review of these drawings.
  • Significant experience in preparing and reviewing reports and technical specifications.
  • The ability to liaise with clients, statutory authorities, and other consultants.
  • A Chartered Member (CPEng) credential from Engineers Australia or the ability to obtain chartership within a reasonable agreed time frame.
  • A practical knowledge and commitment to Health and Safety Design knowledge of applicable codes and standards, both Australian and international.
  • Australian Citizenship preferred, with the ability to obtain Defence clearance.
