The role of a Security Officer is diverse and can be performed in various sectors and roles. This position description outlines the general duties and responsibilities.
About the Role
This position is responsible for providing a security presence while remaining alert and focused. You will be part of a committed and customer-focused team, providing exceptional customer service to all our customers and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders. Key duties include:
- Patrolling premises regularly
- Monitoring surveillance cameras and equipment
- Authorizing entrance of people and vehicles
- Ensuring the security, safety, and well-being of all personnel and visitors
- Reporting suspicious behaviors and happenings to supervisors
- Responding to alarms or suspicious noises in a timely manner
- Submitting reports of daily surveillance activity
Requirements and Skills
- Current SA Security License and Driver's license
- Certificate 2 and/or Certificate 3 in Security Operations
- Physical stamina and ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- Excellent observational and surveillance skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Current First Aid Certificate
