About This Role

We are seeking a senior data scientist to contribute to the development of engineering applications and real-time analytics tools that assist control rooms in managing streaming data by combining and visualising various data sources. Our team operates electricity and gas grids 24/7, with AI advancements and renewable integration making this an exciting time to contribute to energy solutions.

This role involves working on projects from data preparation to full machine learning solutions, designing, building, training, evaluating, deploying, and documenting using the latest technologies. You will collaborate with other developers and product team members or work independently, working directly with end users, primarily electrical engineers and analysts in Operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop robust Python code for machine learning applications and lead brainstorming sessions.
  • Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in ML.
  • Manage metadata for operational data sources in data catalogues and virtualisation environments.
  • Own artifacts like the graph database of grid assets and facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Assist the PSA Technical Lead in ITIL Service Management processes like Change Management.

About Your Qualifications

  • You have experience in successful ML projects in production.
  • Familiarity with popular ML libraries such as Jax, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Wandb is required.
  • Data cleansing, normalization, encoding, and text embedding skills are essential.
  • Understanding graph data and time-series for ML models is necessary.
  • Model deployment, data pipelines, and supporting production systems are part of your expertise.
  • Hardware configuration for offloading computations to GPU/TPU/NPU is also within your scope.
