We are seeking an exceptional Engineering Leadership Specialist to drive complex engineering initiatives and teams in Canberra.

About the Role
  • Lead Engineering Activities: Develop and execute comprehensive plans for engineering change proposals, configuration control boards, and support system working groups.
  • Liaise with Stakeholders: Collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders, manage contractor relationships, and provide expert advice on engineering matters.
  • Exercise Engineering Authority: Operate within regulatory frameworks, ensuring compliance with technical requirements, policies, and legislative standards.
  • Analytical Expertise: Apply strong analytical skills to identify and address engineering issues and uncertainties, incorporating these considerations into planning, decision-making, and priority setting.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide expert advice and recommendations for process and technical improvements, assessing and reviewing technical packages and engineering tasks.
  • Safety Considerations: Monitor and address safety considerations within engineering change management processes, ensuring compliance of deliverables with relevant requirements and safety standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor engineers, fostering teamwork and maintaining positive working relationships, while managing resources and workflows, including preparation and monitoring of work plans.

Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering processes and activities.
  • Experience liaising with multiple stakeholders and managing contractor relationships effectively.
  • Proven capability in exercising engineering authority and operating within regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills for identifying and addressing engineering issues and uncertainties.
  • Proficiency in providing technical advice and recommendations for process and technical improvements.
  • Experience assessing, planning, reviewing, and implementing actions for technical packages and engineering tasks.
  • Ensuring compliance of deliverables with relevant requirements, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Team leadership experience, including mentoring engineers, fostering teamwork, and maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Resource and workflow management, including preparation and monitoring of work plans.
  • Defence Security Clearance of up to at least NV1.
