Job Title: Mental Health Support Worker
">The role of the Youth Peer Support Worker is to provide a rapid response to young people aged 12-17 years with mental distress and/or psychosocial complexity. This includes making connections to a range of community-based services, or supporting consumers to determine if they require more assertive acute care.
">The successful candidate will have a certificate in mental health peer work, or be willing to obtain this qualification within 12 months. They will also possess excellent interpersonal skills, and be committed to using person-centred, recovery-oriented and trauma-informed principles to provide support to young people at risk of suicide.
">This position requires the ability to work collaboratively with clinicians from diverse backgrounds, and to form relationships with a wide range of mental health consumers. The successful candidate will also need to hold a Class 1A drivers licence, and be willing to participate in weekends, on-calls and departmental rostering requirements.
