Media and Marketing Director

The Client Group Director will be the primary point of contact for our clients, responsible for developing strong communication recommendations across all channels, paid, owned, and earned. This role involves driving and leading a successful client relationship and results-driven team, ensuring deliverables are grounded in client priorities.
Key Responsibilities- People
- Communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders and reports regularly.
- Hold regular performance evaluation meetings with reports, setting SMART KPIs and creating a clear career development plan.
- Review team training needs to align with career plans and oversee workflow between team members, escalating any issues.
- Have expert knowledge of the agency structure and know when to tap into resources to enhance work.
- Own the team WIP and be across current campaigns and future plans.
- Direct the team's workload and prioritization to produce the best results for clients.
- Clients
- Establish a deep understanding of client challenges, objectives, and initiatives.
- Build on the agency's reputation for outstanding client service.
- Build strong and enduring client relationships at a senior level.
- Provide innovative strategic insights and act as an expert on the client's business, industry, and competitors.
- Seek out reformist ways to keep clients informed on relevant developments and changes to the media landscape.
- Product
- Engage with internal product teams to ensure understanding of their offerings and relevance to clients.
- Demonstrate an obsession for Provocative Planning and its benefits for clients.
- Have a full understanding and comprehension of the client brief and be able to discuss it internally with the broader client team.
- Leverage industry and agency tools to aid planning, including target audience, brand, growth priorities, insights, role of channel, and channel priorities.
- Growth & Marketing
- Be a Wavemaker spokesperson on industry subjects, with a strong, high-profile, and positive reputation and personality in the market.
- Collaborate closely with the Manager to identify, collate, and showcase examples of great work from within the team.
- Build the agency's reputation by contributing to entries for awards and competitions.
- Contribute to thought leadership across the agency's owned assets.
- Proven capability in managing a large, diverse team.
- Passion for media and marketing.
- Strong, up to date, media landscape knowledge.
- Inspiring communicator with clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with patience to examine detail and create solutions.
- Collaborative and astute - able to build trust and respect within a network.
