Job Overview

The buying team collaborates with the planning department to drive sales, maximize profits, manage intake, and ensure that current and future ranges engage our customers.

We are looking for an entry-level designer to join our brand team. This role is crucial in driving innovation and creativity throughout product development.

About the Role
  • Understand and execute company-wide strategies and objectives.
  • Maintain close links with manufacturers to guarantee seamless handovers of developments, taking direct accountability for ensuring all technical packs submitted are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
  • Communicate regularly with the design team to highlight critical design issues or developments when required.
  • Select, develop, and source materials, colors, trims, etc., according to company standards.
  • Attend fit sessions and utilize technical skills to achieve optimal fit and approve final samples when necessary.
  • Approve all details of final products in line with the original design brief.
  • Understand the manufacturing structure of supplier businesses to recognize cost and manufacturing opportunities for each design submitted.
  • Participate in range planning meetings to ensure balanced styling, color, and material selection.
  • Ensure range boards are up-to-date and planned accordingly.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in product development or design.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong trend forecasting abilities with a commercial eye for fashion.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
  • Proficiency in illustrator and photoshop would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
