About the Role

The State of Queensland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Principal to lead the development of school-to-employment pathways in discrete communities. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the education and career prospects of students in remote and rural areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a comprehensive plan for school-to-employment pathways in each of the discrete communities.
  • Actively promote and source vocational education and training (VET) providers to deliver programs in the discrete communities.
  • Establish senior secondary systems to ensure compliance with the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) and VET programs.
  • Implement work experience systems for each of the schools.
  • Ensure QCAA compliance for Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA).
  • Provide senior secondary technical expertise to principals, deputy principals, and heads of department in each of the schools.
  • Develop links and partnerships with industry groups and organizations to support school-to-work transitions.
  • Establish relationships with external schools, including Western Cape College, to support the delivery of senior secondary programs.
  • Develop effective tracking systems for case and complex case management.
Requirements
  • Highly skilled and experienced Deputy Principal with a strong background in senior secondary education.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement comprehensive plans for school-to-employment pathways.
  • Strong understanding of VET programs and QCAA compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in remote and rural areas.
