About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Category Manager to join our team at Amazon. As a Senior Category Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of category strategies to drive business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets.
  • Act as the 'new business developer' for an assigned set of categories or brands, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact the business.
  • Own forecasting, analyzing, understanding and reporting on the business, including prospecting, conversion and terms negotiations.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the industry, seasonality and business trends/events, and continually monitor competitor/industry developments.
  • Maximize Amazon's business and financial profitability through selection expansion opportunities.
  • Have a complete understanding of customer needs, both existing and potential, and use that knowledge to advocate for and drive delivery of site features that provide Amazon customers with an unparalleled shopping experience.
  • Build vendor/brand relationships, be the primary point of contact for vendor on-boarding and ensure smooth transition to the category teams once on-boarded.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, while meeting tight deadlines.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience with Excel.
  • 5+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience.
  • Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of professional or military experience.
  • Experience using data to influence business decisions.
  • Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration.
  • Experience with business analysis and P&L management.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL.
