**Key Responsibilities:

  • Improve academic outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in collaboration with the Advancement Team.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of programs and services aimed at supporting this student group.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, focusing on their academic success and wellbeing.
  • Develop and implement tailored learning support initiatives that promote progression, retention, and completion among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
  • Liaise with University Units to embed culturally responsive policies, procedures, and frameworks for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
  • Manage and develop staff to ensure high-quality delivery of academic and student support services.

The successful candidate will play a central role in supporting the academic success and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. They will work closely with the Director and Program Manager to drive the implementation of initiatives focused on student needs and collaborate with other team members to achieve common goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective strategies to support student success.
  • Experience in working with diverse groups and building relationships with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of culturally responsive practices and policies.
