About the Role:

We're looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to contribute to the development and maintenance of the Ubuntu Linux kernel. As a Linux Kernel Engineer, you'll be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex kernel issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our users.

What You'll Achieve:

  • Collaborate with a globally distributed team to design, develop, and test kernel components
  • Work closely with silicon, cloud, and hardware manufacturers to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance
  • Diagnose and resolve complex kernel issues, leveraging your expertise in C, git, and Linux kernel development
  • Contribute to the development of new kernel features and enhancements, driving innovation and excellence in the Ubuntu ecosystem
  • Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks to ensure kernel stability and reliability

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong background in software engineering, with a focus on Linux kernel development and C programming
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment
  • Experience with git, Linux kernel development tools, and automated testing frameworks
  • Passion for open-source software and a commitment to driving innovation and excellence in the Ubuntu ecosystem

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary, estimated at $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
