Job Title: Regional Director of District Supports

As a Regional Director of District Supports, you will play a critical role in leading the Field Services team to drive progress and implementation of priorities across the state. You will work closely with district leaders, building strong partnerships and addressing unique challenges with innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and drive the progress and implementation of Field Service's team priorities.
  • Lead as service agent and liaison between the Department and the districts/BOCES within assigned regional service areas.
  • Lead critical information sessions and supports compliance of statutory deadlines.
  • Gather, analyze and synthesize district needs to inform CDE senior leadership.
  • Collaborate deeply with the field and facilitates effective communication.
  • Lead and guides direct support to district leadership to ensure effective implementation of CDE initiatives.
  • Build trusting relationships with diverse stakeholders across the state.
  • Facilitates connections between rural districts and CDE's Office of Special Education.
  • Collaborate to implement the Statewide System of Support.
  • Lead the field services team to identify and create new opportunities to advance strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and provides management support for school and district leaders.
  • Facilitates the use of state assessment and accountability data.
  • Responds to ongoing taxpayer questions and provides support in navigating the public K-12 education system.
  • Supports CDE leadership in creating resources for struggling districts.
  • Collaborates across the Department to ensure efficient data collection and reporting.
  • Special Projects as needed.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years in public schools in a district level role.
  • Minimum 3 years as a district administrator in a rural setting.
Preferred Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills; ability to collaborate effectively in diverse contexts; extensive knowledge in district operations and leadership development.
Conditions of Employment:
  • Must be willing to submit to a pre-screening process and pass a background check.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
