Truck Driver Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Truck Driver to join our team. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the safe operation of commercial vehicles in excess of 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely drive on the road in various weather conditions.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspection sheets to ensure equipment is in proper operating condition.
  • Secure loads properly and inspect them to ensure they are secure.
  • Perform duties consistent with all applicable safety, DOT and Company rules.
  • Maintain clean trucks and perform preventive maintenance as required.
  • Maintain accurate driving records, logs, and shipping documents.
  • Verify shipping documents for accuracy and obtain customer signatures upon delivery.
  • Complete paperwork as required.
  • May operate a forklift to load/unload trailers as needed.
  • Follow forklift rules and policies as described by Company policy.
  • Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • One year of experience driving a commercial vehicle in excess of 26,000 pounds, preferably three to five years.
  • A working knowledge of vehicle parts and minor repairs.
  • The ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
