Genesis Minerals Limited is seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to oversee adherence to statutory Environmental obligations and collaborate closely with Genesis Laverton Operations personnel. This role is pivotal in ensuring that environmental responsibilities are well understood and executed effectively. The Senior Environmental Advisor will play a key role in fostering a cultural shift within the organization, ensuring that all employees recognize their individual and collective responsibilities regarding environmental management. Additionally, this position will involve the coordination, training, and enhancement of the site’s environmental management system.
Key Responsibilities- Provide timely and relevant guidance to the site team on environmental risk management and compliance obligations.
- Encourage environmental awareness and offer leadership on environmental issues to site personnel.
- Oversee the timely preparation of internal and external environmental reports.
- Assist in executing environmental studies and work programs, ensuring safe and effective contractor management.
- Contribute to the collection, storage, and analysis of high-quality environmental data.
- Take responsibility for the site monitoring program, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and delivering quality reports.
- Conduct workplace environmental compliance inspections, focusing on stakeholder engagement and support.
- Assist in the development and submission of applications for environmental approvals and licenses.
- Drive enhancements to the site’s environmental management system and broader business initiatives.
- A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or a related field.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations relevant to the Mining Industry, along with best practices and general environmental systems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while aligning with key business objectives.
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Demonstrated initiative and drive in your professional endeavors.
- High proficiency in computer applications, including the MS Office suite, Monitoring Databases, and Geographic Information Systems.
- A valid C Class Manual Driver's License is essential.
