Job Description

This role plays a vital part in the expansion of Optus Satellite's fleet of geostationary communications satellites. As a Senior Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing Ground Segment systems architecture, planning, and design across multiple technologies including RF and Antenna systems, Baseband and Timing systems, and associated infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop strategic recommendations on system evolution, enhancement, modification, expansion, and replacement.
  • Optimize the cost-effectiveness of existing systems.
  • Support the provision of services for third-party spacecraft and external satellite operators.
  • Perform ongoing fault analysis, maintenance, repair, and sparing of systems equipment and Ground Segment infrastructure.
  • Provide technical and operational support for Satellite Control team resources.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Comprehensive understanding of Space Segment concepts and Satellite Earth Station systems.
  • Experience in Satellite Communication Technologies, Antenna Systems, RF, Baseband, SCADA, and Real-Time Computer systems.
  • Systems SME support experience for Ground Segment systems.
