About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sport Reporter to deliver top-tier sports coverage. The successful candidate will work closely with the News Director, Sports Editor, and wider newsroom team.

As a Sport Reporter, you will:

  • Proactively identify and pitch engaging stories across local, national, and international sport.
  • Stay across breaking news, trends, and social media to deliver timely and relevant content.
  • Generate creative storytelling ideas for both television and digital platforms.
  • Work efficiently under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the sports industry.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Journalism with solid knowledge of news and current affairs.
  • Experience in TV, radio, or digital news, with strong broadcast writing and communication skills.
  • A sound understanding of media law and newsroom systems.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach.
