Community Mental Health Professional

Lithgow Community Health Centre provides comprehensive community health services, including Domiciliary care unit, Emergency department, Geriatric assessment unit, Obstetric services, Paediatric service, and Drug and Alcohol unit.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Lithgow Community Mental Health Team based on a Temporary basis. As a mental health professional, you will provide clinical mental health services to people with a mental illness or mental disorder that is least intrusive, collaborative, recovery oriented, nominated career and family responsive and inclusive, rehabilitative, encourages self-advocacy, facilitates empowerment, and capacity for optimal independent function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality mental health assessments and interventions to consumers and carers
  • Develop and implement individualised plans to support recovery and well-being
  • Collaborate meaningfully with consumers, carers, and other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to care
  • Work closely with other team members to ensure effective communication and sharing of information

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, and eligibility for membership of relevant professional body &/or full registration (if applicable) with AHPRA
  • Demonstrated skills in mental health and discipline-specific assessments and interventions and experience working with people with mental illness
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate meaningfully with consumers and carers with a commitment and understanding of recovery principles in mental health service provision
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and good interpersonal skills
  • Computer competence and literacy
  • Current Driver's License and willingness to use for work purpose travel
