Electronics Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Electronics Specialist to join our team in Richmond VIC. In this role, you will be designing, assembling and repairing our innovative LED lighting products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assembling electronic components and control systems for our advanced LED lighting solutions, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and specifications.
  • Perform in-house testing of LED circuits, PCBs, drivers, semiconductors, CoB & SMD LEDs in constant current and constant voltage driving modes.
  • Examine, test, diagnose and resolve issues with electronic components and control systems, providing timely assessments to minimize downtime by using specific instruments like advanced multi-meters, multi-function power supplies and oscilloscopes.
  • Conduct rigorous quality checks on all assemblies and repairs, ensuring the highest standard of workmanship is maintained.
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics, circuit diagrams and technical specification tables.
  • Maintain accurate records of all assembled batches, repairs and maintenance activities, providing detailed reports for project tracking and compliance.
  • Work closely and collaborate with industrial designers, draftspersons and automation specialists to interpret technical drawings and specifications, ensuring seamless integration of lighting solutions with other smart devices on a variety of commercial projects.
  • Design and pre-commission Casambi, DALI and DSI systems over mesh networks.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in electronic equipment and smart lighting solutions to enhance service delivery.
  • Offer technical support to clients and team members during installation and troubleshooting, ensuring all questions are addressed efficiently.
  • Collaborate with design teams to assist in customising lighting circuits, ensuring that technical specifications align with client design needs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Recognised qualification as Electronic Technician
  • At least two years of proven and relevant work experience
  • Experience with both digital and analogue electronics
  • Ability to design and interpret electronic circuit schematics in CAD
  • Ability to solder semiconductors onto flexible and rigid PCBs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
