Overview of the Maintenance Officer Role
The Maintenance Officer is a vital position that reports to the Buildings and Infrastructure Manager. The primary responsibility is to provide proactive and reactive maintenance services.
This role involves working independently to manage all required maintenance duties and tasks, including work related to potential refurbishments.
- Manage daily operational and maintenance checks of all plant, equipment, and buildings.
- Perform general maintenance/handyman duties or work across other trade areas within skill level as required.
- Demonstrate understanding of relevant Australian Standards associated with maintenance of private hospital facilities.
- Participate in after-hours on-call service, performing after-hours maintenance/emergency tasks as required.
- Rlevant trade experience desirable but not necessary (Plumbing, Mechanical fitter, electrical or Carpentry).
- Previous experience in commercial facility maintenance, preferably hospitals.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
