About the Role:

The Agricultural Water Management Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the efficient use of water resources to maintain soil health and maximize crop yields at Burlington Berries Pty Ltd.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement water budgets and irrigation schedules to ensure optimal crop growth.
  • Monitor water usage and plant health, making adjustments as needed in consultation with the Technical Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Train and develop technicians to successfully manage their tasks and contribute to organizational objectives.
  • Oversee and maintain all irrigation infrastructure, including pumping systems, in conjunction with the technical team.
  • Support the development of internal propagation capacity and ensure plant material meets quality and cost specifications.
  • Conduct daily crop walks to identify areas for improvement and make timely adjustments to irrigation programs.
  • Record and report water and fertilizer use for each crop type.
  • Perform daily water quality checks and record results.
  • Complete accurate and detailed crop blueprints for each crop type.
  • Lead the technical team in safe working practices and identify areas for improvement.
  • Attend weekly technical meetings to set priorities and ensure engagement across teams.
  • Collect and analyze key technical data and provide timely reporting to the technical team.
  • Represent Burlington Berries at industry events and engagements.
  • Contribute to the company's wider business strategy and vision.
