Job Description

The role of a Team Leader involves providing leadership and guidance to team members in the delivery of services to vulnerable children and families. This position requires a strong understanding of child development, trauma, and attachment, particularly in the context of Aboriginal children.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing harm investigations, interviewing involved parties, managing children on protection orders, and supporting staff in court-related work. They will also lead complex casework involving trauma-affected children, using culturally safe and therapeutic approaches to support healing and building resilience.

This role is critical in ensuring the provision of high-quality services to our clients, and we are seeking an experienced and skilled professional who can make a positive impact in this field.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A recognised Social Work degree or a similar welfare or behavioural related degree which includes a primary focus on child development, human behaviour, family dynamics and/or impacts of trauma and preferably a practical component such as counselling or case work practice.
  • Or a recognised Diploma of Community Services work or similar qualification, which is studied over a minimum of two academic years of full-time study (or part-time equivalent) and includes a primary focus on child development, human behaviour, family dynamics and/or impacts of trauma.
  • Valid Police Check, a Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
  • Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended).
