Job Title

Director, Health Impact Evaluation Unit

  • The Commonwealth Treasury is seeking a highly skilled professional to lead the establishment and management of a small new team responsible for delivering impact evaluations and technical reports.
  • The Director will work in close collaboration with colleagues from the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (DoHDA) on designing and delivering up to 3 impact evaluations and several technical reports or other resources.
  • The Director will also be responsible for managing the relationship with DoHDA and other stakeholders, as well as contributing to the ACE's leadership team in setting priorities and managing risks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead a small new team responsible for delivering all elements of a 3-year agreement between the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (DoHDA) and the Australian Centre for Evaluation (ACE).
  2. Work closely with DoHDA colleagues on designing and delivering up to 3 impact evaluations and several technical reports or other resources.
  3. Manage the relationship with DoHDA and other stakeholders, including jointly managing the ACE's relationship with DoHDA.
  4. Contribute to the ACE's leadership team in setting priorities, identifying opportunities, and managing risks.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver high-quality impact evaluations and technical reports.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with the Australian Public Service (APS) and the Commonwealth Evaluation Policy and Toolkit.
