Job Opportunity: Horticulturist

The City of Canterbury Bankstown is one of the largest Councils in NSW with diverse communities. We deliver 28 key services to over 380,000 residents.

This role focuses on maintaining and improving parks, gardens, and landscaped areas with a focus on Sylvan Grove Native Gardens.

Key duties include:

  • Maintaining gardens according to service requirements and rosters.
  • Providing recommendations for mulching, watering, maintenance, and improvement.
  • Developing skills and training staff.
  • Assessing risks and hazards in designated areas.
  • Identifying and reporting landscape deficiencies.
  • Providing assistance and advice when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Horticulture or similar field.
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Chemical Users Accreditation Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience in gardens maintenance.
