We are Northrop Grumman Australia, a leading defence organisation with a strong presence in the country. With over 800 talented employees in Australia, we are part of an 85,000-strong global team that delivers cutting-edge solutions for defence and security.

As we expand our capabilities and build our business, we are also building a reputation as a great place to work. Our employees are shaping the future of aerospace and defence, driving innovation and excellence in everything they do.

This is an exciting time to join our team spearheading the design, supply, installation and commissioning of our Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) facility in Western Australia. As a Hardware Integration Engineer at Northrop Grumman, you will play a pivotal role in delivering this critical capability.

Your Role

You will be responsible for integrating sophisticated radar systems and mission support equipment, working closely with the on-site Northrop Grumman Hardware Integration team and their suppliers. Your duties will include performing initial Antenna Assembly and Integration, conducting Initial System Integration and Check Out (SI&CO) testing, and attending site meetings to support execution planning, risk mitigation development, and issue resolution.

Key to your success will be ensuring safety, schedule, and quality-related risks and issues are reported to the Hardware Lead and the NGADARC programme manager, and maintaining awareness of the System Safety Programme or Management plans, Hazard Log, and any mitigation actions that impact Hardware Integration.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, ideally enhanced by mechanical and/or electrical trade qualifications. Experience in the construction and commissioning of communications infrastructure is essential, as well as effective communication skills, innovative problem-solving abilities, and a keen eye for identifying and mitigating risks.

You will work closely with project stakeholders across Australia and the United States, ensuring seamless integration of hardware with a high level of technical assurance and quality. Experience in SATCOM ground station or large RADAR system installation and maintenance is highly desirable.

What We Offer

At Northrop Grumman, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including professional development opportunities, purchased annual leave, salary packaging, generous paid parental leave, volunteer leave, health and wellbeing program, and employee assistance program.

We value diversity and inclusion, and encourage individuals from all backgrounds and abilities to apply. As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) may also apply, and you will need to satisfy police checks and employment screening verification.
