Centre Cook Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for planning and preparing nutritious meals for children. You will work in a kitchen that is safe, clean, and well-stocked. This position requires close collaboration with educators to meet the dietary needs of children. You will also be involved in ordering supplies and managing inventory. Additionally, you will support mealtime routines and assist where needed.

The ideal candidate will have a Food Safety Handling Certificate and strong knowledge of dietary requirements and allergy management. Experience in cooking for early childhood settings is desirable but not essential. The successful applicant will be committed to supporting children's growth, development, and wellbeing through food.

This is a part-time role, working either 6:30am to 2:30pm or 7am to 3pm. Training and support will be provided by our Head Chef.

The centre is located in the seaside town of Lennox Head, on the Northern Rivers coastline. It cares for 98 children from birth to five years. The area offers a relaxed coastal lifestyle, endless outdoor adventures, and a strong sense of community.

Requirements:
  • Food Safety Handling Certificate

  • Cooking experience in early childhood settings (desirable)
