The Role and Hospital
The Emergency Unit receives approximately 34,000 presentations per year, with a mix of adult and pediatric cases. This is an 18-bed department, an 8-bed short-stay unit, and a regional trauma center. The hospital also serves as a referral center to metropolitan hospitals as required.
As an Emergency Medicine Specialist at Head Medical, you will provide exceptional emergency care within a multi-disciplinary team of medical officers and nursing staff. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing specialist-level emergency service care.
- Fostering relationships with colleagues and other hospital specialists.
- Providing clinical leadership, supervision, and teaching of junior medical staff.
- Participating actively in audits, clinical meetings, and safety activities.
Requirements
Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent.
