Hudson Australia is seeking a skilled Cloud Data Architect to design and implement modern, cloud-based architectures for a medium-sized Commonwealth Agency. The successful candidate will have experience designing, implementing, and maintaining secure data and analytics and lakehouse architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and document solutions for a data lakehouse on Snowflake, using Alation for data governance and connecting to Power BI and Workato.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Data Engineering, and Security teams to ensure optimal build and integration of the data layer.
  • Track costs and performance and optimize designs for cost efficiency and performance.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud and data technologies and best practices.
  • Future proofing designs to meet evolving business requirements and incorporate new technologies.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud and/or lakehouse design in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong experience with cloud data warehousing (Snowflake).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Familiarity with data management tools (Alation) and integration platforms (Workato).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Strong understanding of security principles in cloud environments.
  • Understanding of Australian Government ICT Security policies or equivalent Industry best practices.
