About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Family Violence Specialist Advisor to join our Mental Health and Wellbeing team in the State Government of Victoria, Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide family violence expertise and support to Mental Health and Wellbeing Programs in identifying and responding to family violence.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement trauma-informed care approaches.
  • Build capacity and provide secondary consultation to high-risk cases, including consumers who are using family violence.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the correlation between family violence, mental health, and trauma, and the impact across the lifespan.
  • Support collaboration within and between mental health programs, alcohol and other drugs programs, and the local family violence sector.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in trauma-informed care and family violence expertise.
  • Highly developed skills in working with consumers who have experienced family violence, including children.
  • Clear understanding of the MARAM framework, current legislation relevant to family violence, and mental health practice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
