Job Summary:
As a Direct Support Professional - Inclusive Care Specialist at St. David's Center for Child & Family Development, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental, physical, or mental health disabilities in their homes or communities. Your primary responsibility will be to provide personalized care and support services that promote the health, safety, and well-being of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide cueing, guidance, supervision, training, or instructional support to clients to complete self-care activities.
- Assist clients with daily living tasks, such as cooking, meal planning, and household chores.
- Develop and implement behavior support plans to promote positive behavior and self-sufficiency.
- Accompany clients to community activities and events to enhance socialization, communication, and leisure skills.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (in some cases).
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal English.
- Willingness to learn procedures for caring for clients with behavior/medical needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training or education in social sciences, healthcare, human services, or education.
- Experience working with clients with behavior/medical needs.
