About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Adviser in the Parliamentary Support Unit. As an Adviser, you will play a key role in supporting the work of more senior members of the team to process and manage key tasks and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage the workflow of Current Issues Briefs and Question Time Briefs
  • Provide administrative assistance in the preparation of departmental and ministerial Senate Estimates briefs, as well as other supporting materials for the Department's appearance at Senate Estimates hearings and parliamentary committee inquiries
  • Coordinate and manage responses to Senate Estimates, Parliamentary and Committee Inquiry Questions on Notice
  • Provide ad-hoc administrative support across the section, as required
Requirements
  • Understanding of how government works or keen to learn
  • Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with team members and stakeholders
  • Responsive to changes in stakeholder needs and expectations
  • Identifies own strengths and seeks out opportunities to develop them further
  • Adheres to the APS Values and Code of Conduct
Eligibility
  • Australian citizenship is required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Assessed through pre-employment screening checks, such as an Australian Criminal History Check
