Derivatives Lawyer

We are seeking a highly skilled Derivatives Lawyer to join our team at Axiom. As a leading global-based investment bank, we require a lawyer with significant experience in ISDA agreements, particularly in commodities and metals.

• Support Legal and Business Teams: Collaborate with our legal and business teams to review, draft, and negotiate ISDA agreements with a focus on commodities and metals.
• Draft and Negotiate Documentation: Develop and negotiate OTC commodity derivatives documentation, including ISDAs, CSAs, control agreements, confidentiality agreements, collateral agreements, risk participation agreements, give-up agreements, confirmations, and ancillary documentation.
• Provide Legal Counsel: Offer expert legal advice to internal business leaders and external counsel to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as federal and international rules and regulations, particularly regarding the ISDA.
• Implement New Initiatives: Assist in the implementation of new initiatives, processes, or protocols in an ever-changing market.

• Experience: 5+ years of experience practicing law, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience negotiating ISDA agreements, preferably within a large investment bank.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Firm understanding of the regulatory landscape impacting derivatives and commodities capital markets and ability to provide sound legal advice to ensure compliance.
• OTC Derivatives Expertise: Excellent knowledge of all OTC derivatives documentation, with experience in commodities or metals being highly beneficial, although not required.
• Sound Judgement and Organisational Skills: Sound judgement, strong organisational skills, and ability to prioritise matters in a busy and fast-paced environment.
• Focused ISDA Experience: Focussed ISDA experience is essential.
