Electrical Site Design Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Site Design Engineer to join our team at My NRMA in Australia. As a key member of our Power Solutions and Engineering Design Managers, you will play a crucial role in conducting site inspections, gathering detailed information on power supply options, existing electrical infrastructure, underground services, and EV charger bay layouts.

About the Role:

  • Conduct site inspections and develop comprehensive site inspection reports to inform design decisions.
  • Work closely with the Engineering team to develop detailed designs from concept to IFC and collaborate with the NRMA Energy business units to provide engineering services for land acquisition, infrastructure procurement, delivery, and commissioning.
  • Provide desktop evaluations of candidate locations and support field inspection activities in coordination with the Acquisition team.
  • Review switchboards, both existing and new designs, to facilitate the deployment of EV charging assets.
  • Produce initial site plans based on site inspection reports and internal stakeholder feedback.
  • Develop design drawings to enable the best outcomes for proposed NRMA Energy installations.
  • Liaise with local contractors and agree on technical requirements needed for electrical power distribution equipment and EV charging stations.
  • Review detailed schematics from suppliers and address any required changes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronic, Controls Systems)
  • Qualified Electrician (even if only restricted) would be highly regarded.
  • 5+ years of Engineering experience: Design of Electrical LV infrastructure, including switchboards.
  • Connection processes with DNSP's across all Australian jurisdictions.
  • AutoCAD expertise would be highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to interact with multiple functions to deliver goals.
  • Ability to travel throughout Australia.
  • Passionate about continuous improvement, process efficiency, and collaboration.
  • Experience with EV charging stations would be advantageous but is not essential.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
