Job OverviewThis role is part of the Engineering Productivity (EngProd) team, working alongside other engineers to design, build, scale, and operate systems used by Arista's development teams. We utilize industry-standard tools like Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Grafana, Spinnaker, MySQL, ElasticSearch, Google Cloud, and Varnish, as well as internal systems built from the ground-up to automate CI/CD, testing, analysis, and visualization.
We prioritize observability as a cornerstone of stable systems, ensuring we can monitor and visualize all aspects of our tooling and infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Develop, integrate, and maintain tools and infrastructure supporting internal development and testing.
- Improve maintainability of build systems.
- Evaluate new tools and technologies.
- Enhance speed of information delivery to the development team through build systems and processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system and network issues.
- Adhere to infrastructure-as-code principles.
- Ensure high levels of system and infrastructure availability.
- Participate in designing and implementing new systems and infrastructure projects.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Minimum 4+ years of commercial experience as a DevOps / SRE Engineer.
- Solid experience with Jenkins and GitHub, preferably with a background in the Atlassian stack of products.
- UNIX / Linux systems administration expertise, particularly with RedHat/CentOS.
- Scripting skills using Python or Bash, or experience with high-level languages like Go, C++, etc.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in CI/CD orchestration and software configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Salt, Chef).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced agile development environment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Working knowledge/experience with Makefile/make.
A competitive salary range of AU$120,000 - AU$160,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including:
