Accountant Trainee Role:

We are seeking an ambitious individual to support our accounting team in the preparation and review of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with experienced accountants to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

  • Support the preparation and review of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Assist with the reconciliation of accounts and identification of variances
  • Update financial databases and benchmarking data to reflect current market rates
  • Review and reconcile all provisional allowances within contracts
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to verify costs and ensure compliance with contract terms
  • Produce regular cost reports and variance analyses for sales estimating to manage tender allowances

Requirements:

  • Experience in financial accounting, project accounting, or quantity surveying
  • Some exposure to financial reconciliation and auditing processes
  • An understanding of building contracts and provisional allowances
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and construction estimating software
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
