About the Role

We are seeking an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer to join our team in Melbourne. This role offers a broad exposure across several industries, including automotive, manufacturing, and health.

The successful candidate will have a focus on Mergers and Acquisitions, as well as various corporate and commercial matters, such as commercial contracts, corporate structures and restructures, private capital raising, corporate succession planning, directors' duties, corporate governance, and stakeholder agreements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage transactions of between $5 million and $150 million, with a strong emphasis on analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Provide strategic, commercial, and tailored advice to clients, leveraging excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintain outstanding attention to detail and a commitment to excellence in client service.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for delegating, mentoring, and managing junior lawyers.
  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the growth of the team.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience working in corporate and commercial law, particularly in M&A and transaction management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, facilitating strategic, commercial, and tailored advice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas effectively.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work products.
  • Experience in delegating, mentoring, and managing junior lawyers, with a focus on developing their skills and expertise.
  • A strong interest in business development and identifying new opportunities.
