About the Role

This permanent, full-time position offers an exceptional opportunity to join a reputable organization in Sydney, NS. As a Freight Haulage Specialist, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across long distances, working closely with a two-person team or convoy.

You will operate straight or articulated trucks, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of cargo while adhering to strict safety protocols. Your primary focus will be on maintaining the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other essential equipment.

A critical aspect of this role involves performing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to guarantee the vehicle's optimal performance. Additionally, you will oversee all aspects of the vehicle's maintenance, including preventive measures to minimize downtime.

Your duties will also include receiving and relaying information to central dispatch, recording vital statistics such as cargo details, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.

Requirements
  • Hold a valid Class 1 or A driver's license.
  • Possess experience in freight haulage, although it is not mandatory.
Work Environment

This role is based in Sydney, NS, and involves working on-site. The job requires a minimum of 32 to 60 hours of work per week, with a guaranteed minimum wage. You will be employed on a permanent basis, working full-time hours.
