Quality Assurance and Control Specialist

We are seeking an experienced QAQC Advisor/Welding Supervisor to join our team for a Shutdown on a chemical plant in Central Queensland. This role is required to commence immediately as part of the Shutdown planning phase on a FIFO or DIDO roster.
Key Responsibilities- Review documents and drawings to ensure they are correct as per specification and job pack.
- Ensure required QA/QC documents are in the job pack, including ITPs, weld traceability, drawings, and visual inspection sheets.
- Supervise and monitor welding activities to ensure compliance with client specifications and statutory requirements.
- Develop ITPs and conduct post-weld inspections to verify weldments meet specification and statutory requirements.
- Review NDT reports to ensure they are correct and meet client and statutory requirements.
- Verify all QA/QC is completed as per client specifications and statutory requirements prior to items being dispatched.
- Comply with UGL and client safety procedures and policies.
- Trade background or tertiary engineering qualifications.
- Weld Australia-Cert 10 qualification.
- Extensive knowledge of Australian Welding Codes.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- Experience in Shutdown projects, preferably in chemical plants or similar.
- Experience with planning Shutdown and Pre-Shutdown activities.
- Ability to multitask and attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience or knowledge of welded products and experience with computerised systems.
