Senior Financial Accountant Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to play a crucial role in enhancing the transparency and quality of financial data reported to regulatory bodies.

The ideal candidate will have experience in finance, preferably with a background in a Big 4 professional services firm, and knowledge of superannuation, investment accounting, or the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and coordinate quarterly and annual returns.
  • Assist in coordinating deliverables with external bodies.
  • Prepare key fund data, including calculations and reserve balances.
  • Support the development and monitoring of regulatory reporting frameworks.
  • Implement policies, processes, and procedures for APRA SDT reporting.
  • Execute process improvements to enhance automation, transparency, and auditability.
  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist with month-end close processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • CA or CPA qualification is essential.
  • Experience in finance, preferably with a background in a Big 4 professional services firm.
  • Knowledge of superannuation, investment accounting, or the financial services industry.
  • Strong accounting skills and knowledge of accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in Excel and strong spreadsheeting skills.
