Overview: We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to serve as our Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO). This role is critical to the security and integrity of our information systems. The ISSO will implement and manage operational information systems security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
">Main Responsibilities:
">- Compliance Review: Conduct regular reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with security authorization packages and identify any discrepancies or vulnerabilities.
- Change Management: Coordinate changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware with the ISSM and AO/DAO prior to implementation to minimize risks and ensure security.
- Recovery Processes: Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly after disruptions or failures.
- Documentation: Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current, accurate, and accessible to authorized personnel for reference and decision-making purposes.
- Training and Development: Attend required technical and security training relative to assigned duties to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
">- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Information Assurance, or Cybersecurity.
- Certifications: CISSP, Security +, or equivalent certification demonstrating expertise in information systems security.
- Technical Skills: Experience with Linux operating systems and familiarity with Intelligence Community Directive 503 (ICD 503) and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in a current ISSO role with IA certifications may suffice for degree; meets DoD 8570.1 Certification Requirements as an Information Assurance Technical Category II (IAT II) minimum.
