The Role

A successful applicant should possess professional knowledge, practices, and experience in teaching English at a senior level. They should have a proven track record of working effectively with students across different age groups, particularly in General and ATAR classes. The capacity to teach English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) and facilitate literacy support to smaller groups is highly desirable.

As an English instructor, you will be expected to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. You should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong commitment to achieving high educational outcomes for all students.

Requirements
  • Hold a qualified teacher registration.
  • Be a citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before commencing.
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department's Screening Unit before commencing.
